About Pam

Service has been the defining thread throughout Pam Genant's life. Whether serving her country as a Veteran, caring for patients as a nurse, advocating for veterans and their families, or strengthening her community through public service, Pam has always believed that leadership begins with listening and putting people first.

Now, Pam is running for Burke County Commissioner because she believes the county deserves leadership that is thoughtful, transparent, and representative of everyone who calls Burke County home.

Pam believes in practical solutions, fiscal responsibility, open government, and respectful leadership. Above all, she believes Burke County's greatest strength is its people. She is committed to protecting what makes Burke County special while planning responsibly for the future, ensuring the county remains a place where families, businesses, and communities can thrive for generations to come.

Experience That Fits the Job

Pam Genant has spent years working alongside people across Burke County and North Carolina to solve problems, build organizations, and help others succeed.

As Chair of the Burke County Democratic Party and President-Elect of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, Pam has worked with community leaders, local governments, candidates, and volunteers from every corner of the state. She has trained candidates and local leaders, helped communities organize around important issues, and learned that lasting solutions come from bringing people together, not leaving people out.

One of Pam's greatest passions is supporting veterans. As both a veteran and a nurse, she understands the challenges many veterans face after their service ends. She has dedicated countless hours to veteran suicide prevention because she believes no one who served our country should ever feel forgotten. That commitment reflects the kind of public servant Pam is, someone who shows up, listens, and works to make a meaningful difference for the people she serves.

Pam’s Priorities for Burke County

Protecting Burke County While Planning for Growth.

Pam Genant believes Burke County's future should be shaped through thoughtful planning, transparency, and community involvement. As growth and new industries like data centers become part of North Carolina's future, she believes residents deserve a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their communities. Pam is committed to ensuring development is carefully planned, respects Burke County's infrastructure and natural resources, and balances economic opportunity with the long-term interests of the people who call Burke County home.

Protecting Our Natural Resources

Pam Genant believes that what makes Burke County special is worth protecting. The county's mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, and trails are more than beautiful landscapes, they are part of the community's identity. Families come to Burke County to hike, fish, camp, paddle, and enjoy the outdoors, while these natural resources support tourism, strengthen the local economy, and enhance residents' quality of life.

Pam believes responsible growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. She is committed to ensuring that future development is carefully planned so that progress never comes at the expense of the natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and quality of life that make Burke County a place people are proud to call home.

Representative and Transparent Government

Pam believes Burke County's government should better reflect the people it serves. Burke County is made up of many communities, each with its own experiences, priorities, and challenges. She believes strong decision-making comes from hearing a variety of perspectives around the table.

Pam believes the Board of Commissioners should strive to represent the geographic, professional, and personal diversity of Burke County so that every resident feels their community has a voice in county government. She is committed to transparent leadership, open communication, and ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to be heard before important decisions are made.

Leadership Rooted in Service

Pam believes county government isn’t about politics, it’s about stewardship. It’s about listening, planning ahead, and making decisions that benefit the entire community. She is running to provide steady, collaborative leadership that puts Burke County families first.

On Election Day, Pam Genant asks for your vote and your support. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Burke County, for today and for the generations to come.
