Statewide Referendum

An act to amend the NC Constitution to require all voters to present photo ID before voting, not just those voting in person. (Full text)

Voting Dates & Times

​EARLY VOTING:

  • Burke County Board of Elections: 2128 S Sterling Street, Suite 100, Morganton

  • Burke County Sr Center: 501 N Green St, Morganton

  • Glen Alpine Town Hall: 103 Pitt St, 28628 Pitts St, Glen Alpine

  • Rutherford College Town Hall: 980 Malcolm Blvd, Rutherford College

  • East Burke Sr Center: 101 Main Avenue W, Hildebran

*Thursday, October 15th through Saturday, October 31st, Weekdays 8:00 am until 7:30 pm

*Saturday, October 24th and October 31st 8:00 am until 3:00 pm

You may register and vote on the same day during EARLY VOTING.  Bring a photo ID and you need profof of residency, a power bill or drivers license that has your Burke County address on it.  

ELECTION DAY is November 3, 2026

You MUST vote in your precinct on election day.  Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote. Remember to bring your photo ID.
